FAQ
What is new energy vehicle sealant?
The sealing adhesive for new energy vehicles has its particularity in automotive maintenance. Due to the deformation and damage of most joint surfaces after use and disassembly, the difficulty of sealing leakage increases, making the "three leaks" problem in the automotive repair industry particularly prominent. Due to the position of some parts and the high pressure, the oil leakage failure rate has always been high, becoming a major challenge in improving quality. For example, the valve chamber side cover of the engine is in a lateral position, affected by internal gas pressure, making the side cover prone to deformation. Factors such as the structure and tightening of the middle bolts make the oil leakage problem in this area particularly prominent. Anaerobic sealants have a good anti-loosening effect and can completely replace spring washers and flat washers. Anaerobic adhesives can be used for all bolt loosening in automotive maintenance. Especially when using bolts in some critical areas, their unique role can be fully utilized. If the connecting rod bolts on the engine are subjected to strong impact loads due to reciprocating motion, the anti-loosening issue of the connecting rod bolts is particularly prominent, and using anaerobic adhesive can solve this problem. Anaerobic sealants can also seal leaks. After the bolts are tightened, there is still a certain gap between the threads, leading to a small amount of leakage. This is particularly prominent in some high-pressure components. The old method of adding copper gaskets or lead oil is ineffective, and using anaerobic adhesive can solve this problem.
Characteristics and maintenance of water-swelling waterstop glue
1. Characteristics of Water-Activated Swelling Water Stop Sealant
The physical performance indicators of the water-activated swelling water stop sealant are: solid content >80, specific gravity 1.20~1.55g/cm, slump (20℃) ≤3mm before curing; after curing, the test items are elongation rate ≥400, tensile strength >0.3mpa, and clear water (room temperature, distilled water) volume expansion rate ≥220. These areas can use water-activated swelling sealant for sealing and waterproofing.
The water-activated swelling sealant cures and protects the finished product. It is a single-component sealant that can be applied using a standard caulking gun. After applying the water-activated swelling sealant, the surface hardens, allowing for the next concrete pouring once it feels dry to the touch. The water-activated swelling sealant has a slow expansion characteristic, with a 7-day expansion rate accounting for 39.3% of the total expansion, so there is no need to worry about excessive expansion affecting the next concrete pouring.
2. Curing of Water-Activated Swelling Water Stop Sealant
1. The construction environment temperature should be chosen between 5℃-40℃. Below 5℃, the hardening time is extended due to humidity; above 40℃, the slump will increase. The environmental temperature during construction should not be lower than -10℃ or higher than 50℃.
2. The water stop sealant reacts with moisture (humidity) in the air to harden. The next concrete pouring can only proceed after the surface of the sealant has completely hardened.
3. When tying and welding reinforcement near the water stop sealant, necessary measures should be taken to protect the sealant. Especially when welding steel bars, materials such as asbestos cloth should cover the surface of the sealant.
4. The exposed parts of the sealant should be temporarily covered for protection.
5. If there is a long period from the water stop belt construction to the secondary concrete pouring, please pay attention to protecting the water stop belt from being permeated. If there is infiltration caused by water-activated swelling and the sealant detaches from the water stop belt, repairs should be made before pouring concrete. The repair method is as follows: use nails to fix the sealant at the peeling area; after removing moisture, remove the sealant that needs to be peeled off and reapply.
What details should be noted when applying a primer?
1. Since primers are developed based on the characteristics of the substrate, it is necessary to clarify the characteristics of the substrate before use. The differences in molecular formulas require different types of primers to be selected for different substrates.
2. Before spraying or applying the primer, the surface of the substrate must be cleaned. Residues from some release agents or cleaning liquids can also prevent the primer from functioning effectively.
3. If conditions allow during use, baking the primer can enhance the molecular structure and improve adhesion properties with an increase in environmental temperature (generally recommended to bake at 60-70°C for 3-5 minutes).
4. After opening, the primer should be sealed for storage, and attention should be paid to the shelf life.
How to use sealant?
When using sealant, first prepare the appropriate sealant and caulking gun. The surface of the substrate needs to be clean and dry; secondly, align the caulking gun at a 45-degree angle to the surface of the substrate, and squeeze out the sealant evenly onto the substrate or in the gaps; after applying the sealant, excess material should be cleaned up. The adhesive should be allowed to fully cure. Additionally, the surface of the substrate should be cleaned before using the sealant to avoid affecting its sealing effect. If the surface of the substrate is uneven or has deformation issues, it needs to be repaired to ensure a flat surface. Alternatively, when applying the sealant, the appropriate construction method and tools should be chosen based on the object being adhered to. If only a small amount of sealant is needed, tools like brushes can be used for manual application. For larger applications, tools like spray guns can be used for spraying, which can provide a better application effect.
Furthermore, when applying sealant, it should be spread evenly. If the cured adhesive has uneven heights, there will be gaps. These gaps can easily allow water to enter and can trap dirt. This can affect the bonding effect to some extent. Another important point is that after sealing, excess adhesive needs to be trimmed to ensure the aesthetics of the material. When trimming, be careful not to peel off the entire adhesive layer. In summary, sealant has insulating and sealing characteristics, and when used in electrical appliances, it can ensure the stable and reliable electrical performance of motors and electrical components, as well as good mechanical strength. It is mainly used for sealing and insulating capacitors, resistors, transformers, and semiconductor components. Sealant can also fully resist expansion and contraction movements, deformed joints, and cyclic deformation joints. After curing, it has sufficient strength to withstand pressure. However, to achieve this effect, good quality and high standards are necessary to exhibit such performance. If you have any questions about it, you can also consult customer service here. Key Points for Using Sealant:
The quality of sealing glue directly affects the packaging effect, the storage and lifespan of packaged items, and even the credibility of the packaged goods. Therefore, sealing glue has become an important component in the packaging field. Current products can be roughly divided into three types based on the shape and use of sealing materials: gaskets, adhesive tapes, and gels. They can all prevent liquid leakage, block the entry of oxygen, moisture, and odors, as well as prevent counterfeiting and the emergence of inferior products. Anti-counterfeiting seals generally use hot melt adhesive or pressure-sensitive adhesive tape for sealing. Once the packaging is removed, it cannot be restored to its original state, eliminating the occurrence of counterfeit and inferior products, thus protecting consumers' interests. In summary, sealing glue has excellent wear resistance; low-temperature softness; a wide range of performance adjustments; high mechanical strength; good adhesion; good elasticity and recovery, suitable for dynamic joints; good weather resistance, with a service life of 15 to 20 years; excellent oil resistance; biological anti-aging properties; and moderate pricing.
